How long have you done CrossFit?
About 1 year.
What do you LOVE seeing on the whiteboard when you get to Fit Club? Why?
Either deadlifts or power clean. I'm not as strong as I used to be, but I can still throw a little bit of weight around doing either of those exercises.
What do you HATE seeing on the whiteboard when you get to Fit Club? Why?
Anything with a handstand. Handstand hold, handstand push-up. I just can't get my big ass in the air..
What’s your go-to “cheat” meal? (not that you do it very often, right?)
Pizza, beer and pizza.
What's the biggest change you've seen in yourself since beginning CrossFit?
I would have to say without a doubt my confidence. As I mentioned, having been a former athlete (football player) I am nowhere near as strong as I used to be. That was difficult to deal with at the beginning but I have noticed gains in virtually all of my lifts over the past year. That alone motivates me to keep putting in the work.
What has Fit Club/CrossFit taught you about yourself?
Age is just a number. Being 37 and having a fake hip, I think I am towards the higher end of the age range and definitely in the minority when it comes to Fit Clubbers. I don't let that slow me down one bit.
What motivates you to push yourself further?
I want to be the best at everything I do. Whether it is being the top rep at my job, being the best husband and dad I can possibly be or even Rx-ing a WOD. I always want to try and be the best.
Tell us something cool that we might not know about you
I am a women's college basketball referee. Cool, maybe not? But not everyone can go out there and get screamed at for 2 hours either.
