How long have you done CrossFit?
2.5 years - started in NYC and joined FC the day I moved to Columbus (2 years ago).
What do you LOVE seeing on the whiteboard when you get to Fit Club? Why?
Box jumps, rope climbs, bench press - all things that challenge me but that I can manage to do.
What do you HATE seeing on the whiteboard when you get to Fit Club? Why?
Anything overhead - shoulder/wrist/fear issues.
What’s your go-to “cheat” meal? (not that you do it very often, right?)
I just really love when he humps the floor.
Has Fit Club changed your life? How?
Yes, I've met lots of cool people and learned to climb a rope.
What has Fit Club/CrossFit taught you about yourself?
I need to go the gym more often and I really need to toughen up my hands.
What motivates you to push yourself further?
Usually the clock, or my pal (the Hotz) who manages to finish rowing before I ever even start.
How many times a week do you workout? How do you find/make the time?
In my mind, and on every medical form I've ever filled out, I work out five times per week. In reality it's way worse. Maybe 2-3 times a week. 6am is the only time I can go, and that can be tough.
What advice would you give to someone curious about or just starting CrossFit?
Just go. You'll love it. And don't be afraid to push yourself, but know when you need to scale. Don't drop anything heavy on your head.
Tell us something really cool about yourself:
This is medium cool at best. My favorite thing to do is meet wild animals. So far I've petted or hugged a cheetah, elephant, baby panda, penguin, baby kangaroo, and many, many reptiles. My hope is to get to koala, sloth, flying fox and sea lion before I die.
